Subscription eCommerce Company Retains Adapt IP to Sell Patent Portfolio

Our client was an angel funded start-up that developed and patented an app at the intersection of eCommerce and social networking. The app allowed people to keep lists of favorite items (e.g., favorite books, favorite restaurants, favorite movies) and share those recommendations with others that they trust. After overcoming §101 rejections during prosecution, three patents have issued from those applications and form the basis of this offering. The patent family remains open for continued prosecution. The eCommerce patents and recommendation system allows individuals to maintain lists of items, categories or locations of interest in an account and share or recommend those items to others.
